Holy Week Concerts a Blessing for All

In a wonderful example of churches collaborating for a special event, the choirs of Grace Presbyterian, Green Valley Presbyterian and Mountain View Presbyterian Churches combined to present three performances of Gabriel Faure’s Requiem, Op. 48.

The full choir and orchestra did a magnificent job bringing this beautiful and moving requiem to life.  The massed choir of over 60 voices presented the program at Mountain View on Palm Sunday, at Green Valley for the Maundy Thursday Service and at Grace for the Good Friday Service.  Net proceeds from the offerings received at these special services went to support the Food Bank at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

A special thanks to Music Directors: Lisa Elliott (Grace), Dr. Spencer Baker (GVPC) and Dr. Mark Wherry (MVPC) for the vision, dedication and work that went into making this such a memorable and inspiring Holy Week offering.  Thanks to the choir members, soloists and orchestra for devoting many hours to prepare and perform this glorious music.  What a blessing to have such talented and generous Presbyterians in our midst.  Thanks be to God.
