Give toward a more promising future

When you give to the Pentecost Offering, you are helping to provide opportunities for young people to grow and share their faith in Christ.

  • 40% stays with your congregation » Develop and support programs for young people in your own church and community
  • 25% supports Young Adult Volunteers (YAV) » Provide opportunities for young adults to serve communities around the world and grow as leaders through transformative Christian service
  • 25% goes to Ministries with Youth » Ministries like the Youth Triennium help guide thousands of our youth by uniting them in Christ and lifting them up as messengers of God’s word.
  • 10% advocates for at-risk children » Support vital ministries helping to improve education and provide safe havens for children

The Pentecost Offering makes real and lasting impact in the lives of our young people.

Andy Thomas, the son of a Presbyterian pastor who grew up in church, had drifted away as a teenager. Despite his reservations, he decided to serve a year in Washington, D.C., as a Young Adult Volunteer. Riding the bus home from a prayer vigil for the city’s homeless, he felt for the first time that the Holy Spirit was with him, and rededicated his life to Christ’s promise.

Green Valley Presbyterian Church is the leader in our Presbytery recording a doubling of their gift over the last two years to youth ministries through the offering. According to the Special Offerings office, Green Valley Presbyterian Church’s portion of the Pentecost Offering given to national ministries was $3,433.93 last year, the highest in the Presbytery by amount and per member. Well done!
