TapeMeasureLogoNevada Presbytery members, Melva O’Neill, Robert Kelley, Patrick Mecham, and Vernon Towne are our Presbytery’s Commissioned Ruling Elder (CRE) Sub-Committee. They review matters relating to CREs and prepare recommendations to Committee on Ministry.

Since many of the rules and requirements for CREs have been removed from the Book of Order and placed instead in Presbytery policies, these folks serve an important function to ensure Nevada Presbytery is a partner in ministry with commissioned ruling elders of Nevada Presbytery. Interested in becoming a CRE? Contact any of the above or our stated clerk to get started.

“The CRE Committee will be responsible for receiving elders into the CRE program, approval of training, oversight, encouragement and examination of elders, and making recommendations for deployment to the Committee on Ministry. It shall also provide for the CRE candidate’s continuing intellectual and spiritual development. It shall act for the presbytery according to provisions of the Book of Order G-4.04”
