Here is an assessment of the final iteration probable list of 221st GA Business Items that will be faced by our commissioners to the GA meeting this June in Detroit by Elder Arthur W. Ritter, Past Moderator Chair of Nevada Presbytery Council: “I assure you, my assessment is ‘purely objective’ and not biased in any way (except, maybe as our experience with these things from GA in the past may have tempered my objectivity).”
Of specific importance is the ‘10 years in the making’ re-write proposed for the Directory for Worship and the allied-topic proposed changes to the Directory concerning the definition of marriage and the freedom of pastors and sessions to approve or reject requests for same-sex marriage ceremonies.
Sessions and pastors are encouraged to review this GA Business Items list share their mature Christian advice with our commissioners that they may prepare their conscience to vote God’s will on these matters. The Presbytery’s General Assembly delegation is identified in the attachment – with their email addresses.
