Parish Associate
Hilda was born in Beirut, Lebanon and grew up in Los Angeles where she and her family were active members of the United Armenian Congregational Church. Hilda received her Bachelor’s degree from Occidental College in Los Angeles, with a double-major in Psychology and Religious Studies. Hilda received her Master of Divinity Degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1987 and was ordained by the Presbytery of San Joaquin as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA).
She served as Pastor and Head of Staff of Green Valley Presbyterian Church in Henderson, NV from 1987 to 2005. Hilda was Board-Certified as a Hospital Chaplain in 2007 and worked as a staff Chaplain at Dignity Health St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena Campus in Henderson from 2007 to 2015.
Hilda then had the joy of serving on the staff of the Presbytery of Nevada as Presbytery Pastor from 2015 through 2019.
She feels blessed to be a member of the Presbytery of Nevada since 1987 and has served as Moderator, Commissioner to the General Assembly twice, Commissioner to the Synod of the Pacific several terms, Zephyr Point Board of Directors, and on a number of Presbytery and Synod Committees.
She currently works part-time as Parish Associate at Green Valley Presbyterian Church, providing pastoral care, visitation, preaching and other tasks as assigned by the Pastor. She also provides pulpit supply support to other congregations as needed.
Hilda and her husband Denis Pecoraro have been married for 38 years. They enjoy being on the road whenever possible in their motorhome with their Dachshund Missy. Hilda also likes reading, music, baking, traveling, cooking shows, and spending time with friends.
