In a letter to Presbytery leadership, with a heavy heart, Ruling Elder Joan Jeffers resigned at Stated Clerk of the Presbytery of Nevada effective January 31, 2016 or earlier if a replacement can be found. In the August 21, 2015 letter to the Presbytery moderator, Rev. Rebecca Watkins and the moderators of Personnel, Council and Trustees, Elder Jeffers wrote that she needs to spend more time with her husband, “Quite simply, this position ended up being much more of a commitment than it had been presented and at this time in our lives we just do not want to spend that much time apart.”

Elder Jeffers has appreciated the opportunity to serve the people and Presbytery she cares deeply these last three years as Stated Clerk.
