Pastor Installed at Green Valley

On Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. the Administrative Commission of the Presbytery of Nevada gathered with the congregation of Green Valley Presbyterian Church to install the Reverend Adrian Neil Doll as Pastor. The Installation Service included glorious music on two grand pianos, organ, brass and hand-bells, as well as the magnificent choir and soloist! From the first notes of the bagpiper and the procession of Commission members and participants, the Service was a true celebration of God’s faithfulness in calling Adrian to Green Valley, and the exciting start of a new chapter for this wonderful congregation.

The Rev. Susan Meier, Presbyter for Common Life in Adrian’s previous presbytery of Maumee Valley, was the guest preacher. The Rev. Meier presented the gift of a “Quaich” also known as Scotland’s Cup of Friendship, to the Presbytery of Nevada, explaining that this is a tradition for Maumee Valley. The Rev. Hilda Pecoraro received the gift on behalf of the Presbytery and in turn presented a chalice and paten as a gift to Maumee Valley from the Presbytery of Nevada!

The Charge to the Pastor was presented by the Rev. Lydia Sarandan a long-time friend of Rev. Doll’s from Los Ranchos Presbytery, and the Charge to the Congregation was given by the Rev. Vernon Towne, who encouraged the congregation to support and affirm their pastor, to pray for him and to extend hospitality and friendship to him and his family.

Following the Service, the celebration continued with a lovely brunch and time of fellowship. It was truly a memorable day for all who were able to attend. Let us join in congratulating Adrian, his wife Janel, their children David and Claira, and the members of Green Valley Presbyterian Church. May God grant them a long, fruitful and rewarding ministry together, bearing witness to God’s faithfulness and redeeming grace in Henderson and beyond.
