On Saturday, May 21, 2016, pastors in northern Nevada gathered at Spanish Springs Presbyterian Church for a Clergy Luncheon, hosted by the Equipping Committee. The enticing aroma from the catered Olive Garden meal greeted the pastors and committee members who enjoyed fellowship, a delicious lunch and time for sharing ministry updates. Seven pastors were able to attend, along with members of the Equipping Committee, RE’s Ray Bledsoe and Elaine Noble. Denis Pecoraro was also present as well as Spanish Springs elder Joyce Whiteford who came to assist with hosting duties.

Ray Bledsoe reminded pastors of the support available from the Equipping Committee, and Presbytery Pastor Hilda Pecoraro led the pastors in a time of reflecting on their ministries and the important lessons learned along the way. Pastors shared thoughts of how the Presbytery might assist congregations in cooperative mission, with the idea of having a regional Officer Training receiving the greatest support. Elaine Noble wrapped up the luncheon and sent the group out with a blessing.

It was a very enjoyable time and the hope is to continue to have these regional gatherings on a regular basis. Special thanks to the Rev. Pat Mecham and Spanish Springs for hosting the lunch and to Chair of Equipping RE DeLois Basnett, who graciously underwrote the cost of the luncheon, as well as coordinating the details long-distance! Thanks to Elders Ray Bledsoe and Elaine Noble for facilitating the program and helping with set-up and take-down!
