Calling All Volunteers

The General Assembly is coming to the Synod of the Pacific! In thirty days the 222nd General Assembly of the PC(USA) will be convening in Portland, Oregon. Commissioners and guests will be coming to the City of Roses from June 18-25, 2016. In order to welcome and assist the hundreds of guests from all over the country, our sister presbytery, the Presbytery of the Cascades is asking for volunteers from across the Synod for their support in hosting the GA.

It’s not too late to sign up! If you volunteer for even one 2-hour shift (such as helping to serve Communion at a worship service), you will receive a free badge that will gain you entrance to ALL GA events – including committees, vendors and exhibits, plenary sessions and worship services – for the entire week! You can complete your shift of service then take in as much of the GA experience as you would like. Here are links for more information and to sign up for volunteering, from www.gaportland.com. Positions will be listed and you can register for volunteer service.

If you cannot attend the GA, there is also a place on the website to sign up to be a Prayer Partner – something we can all do!
