Elder Gary Coon Installed as Commissioned Ruling Elder at Grace

Jim Houston-Hencken, Scott Plummer, Gary Coon, and Bruce Laird,

On Sunday May 3, 2016 Ruling Elder (RE) Gary Coon was installed as Commissioned Ruling Elder (CRE) at Grace Presbyterian Church, Central Campus during the morning worship service. The installation was performed by the Commissioning Elders: Teaching Elder (TE Jim Houston-Hencken, RE Scott Plummer and RE Bruce Laird, all from Grace Presbyterian Church. Gary’s appointment was approved by the presbytery at it’s spring gathering on March 9th.

Gary and his wife Dorrell have been members of GPC for the last couple of years. He serves as Moderator of the GPC Deacons and frequently assists in leading worship at various churches in the Las Vegas area. He now is authorized to perform the sacraments within the denomination and will be available to fill in as pulpit supply pastor for planned absences and interim vacancies within the presbytery.

Jim Houston-Hencken will serve as Gary’s mentor during his one year term.

Gary has truly been lead by the Spirit to take this important step in his faith journey. Please join Grace Presbyterian Church in welcoming Gary to his new ministry in the Presbytery of Nevada.
